Report on Radcliffe Pan India Induction & Curriculum Training Program SPA

Introduction: The Radcliffe Pan India Induction & Curriculum Training Program SPA was held on May 29 to May 31, 2023. The program aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of the SPA (Sports, Performing Arts, and Arts & Crafts) professionals across various Radcliffe campuses in India.

Inauguration: The event began with ceremonial lamp lighting by Vice Principal Mrs. Priti Pasricha from Radcliffe Kharghar, Vice Principal Mrs. Sheetal Gawade from Radcliffe Taloja, and National SPA Head Mr. Randhir Singh. This act symbolized the illumination of knowledge and the unity of the SPA team.

Principal Sapna Agarwal, although unable to attend physically, shared an inspiring video message with the participants, expressing her support and motivation for all the SPA team members.

Welcoming Performances: To set the tone for the event, talented students from Radcliffe Kharghar performed a vibrant and energetic welcome song, showcasing the unity and spirit of the SPA team. The performances delighted the audience and received heartfelt appreciation.

Felicitation of Achievements: During the event, talented students who won the Inter School & District level Taekwondo Tournament were felicitated. Lavanya Bhanagay, Aaradhya Meher, and Vedant Rajoria were recognized for their achievements in Taekwondo.

Address by CEO: The CEO of Radcliffe Group of Schools, Devidutta Kanungo, arrived and was felicitated by Mr. Randhir Singh. CEO then addressed all the coaches who had gathered from various Radcliffe campuses across India, including Kharghar, Thane, Ulwe, Pune, Kolkata, Jaipur, Bathinda, Patiala, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Kochi. More than 75 Coaches & Coordinators participated in the training program.

Training Sessions: The training program spanned two days, with a well-structured agenda.
Training Program Agenda – Day 1: The first day of the training program focused on practical sessions and discussions. The agenda for the day was as follows:

  1. Introduction / Keynote Address (8:00 am to 8:15 am): The event started with a welcome note, scheduled presentation, and an overview of the purpose of the meeting.
  2. Lesson plan execution Gr. 1-5 (8:15 am to 10:00 am): Practical sessions were conducted to discuss and execute lesson plans for students in grades 1 to 5.
  3. Lesson plan execution Gr. 6-10 (10:15 am to 1:00 pm): Similar practical sessions were conducted to discuss and execute lesson plans for students in grades 6 to 10.
  4. Assessments (1:30 pm to 2:00 pm): There was a discussion on assessments, including parameters and conduct.
  5. IHC (2:00 pm to 2:30 pm): A session focused on the discussion of IHC (Intra-House Competition) rules and execution.
  6. School Team (2:30 pm to 3:00 pm): The selection and development of the school team were discussed during this session.
  7. PSA (2:30 pm to 3:00 pm): The curriculum, pedagogy, and promotion of Post School Activities (PSA) were discussed.
  8. Tour (3:00 pm to 3:30 pm): Planning and promotion of tours for students were discussed in this session.
  9. Open discussion with respective HOD (3:30 pm to 4:00 pm): An opportunity for an open discussion with the respective Heads of Department (HOD) was provided.
    The first day consisted of practical sessions on lesson plan execution for different grade levels, discussions on assessments, IHC (Inter House Competitions), selection and development of school teams, and the curriculum and pedagogy of After School Activities (PSA).

Training Program Agenda – Day 2: The second day of the training program included sessions on various topics related to personal development and specific activities. The agenda for the day was as follows:

  1. Assembly at the venue (8:00 am to 8:15 am)
  2. Injury and Rehab (8:15 am to 10:00 am): All members participated in sessions focusing on injury prevention and rehabilitation techniques.
  3. Soft skill/Grooming (10:30 am to 12:00 pm): Sessions were conducted to enhance soft skills and grooming among all members.
  4. HR departments Session (12:00 pm to 1:00 pm): A session dedicated to HR-related topics was conducted for all members.
  5. What is SPA? Why SPA? (1:30 pm to 3:00 pm): Discussions were held on SPA activities, policies, guidelines, and the importance and outcomes of various events.
  6. Open discussion (3:00 pm to 3:30 pm): An open discussion was facilitated, allowing all members to participate.
  7. Coordinators Training Session (04:00 pm to 09:30 pm on 29 and 31 May 2023 and 8.30 am to 4.00 pm on 31 May 2023): Training for coordinators from all campuses on SPA functioning.
    The second day featured sessions on injury prevention and rehabilitation, soft skills and grooming, HR department sessions, and discussions on SPA activities, base timetables, assessments, and the role of coaches in PTMs (Parent-Teacher Meetings). The day concluded with an open discussion allowing all members to participate. Alongside Coordinators training to have documentation record maintains training.
    Trainers and Expertise: The training program included esteemed trainers who brought their expertise to enrich the learning experience. The trainers and their areas of expertise were as follows:
  8. Kiran Desai (Cricket) is a highly accomplished trainer with an Australia level 3 certification in cricket.
  9. Victor Salve (Basketball), a national-level basketball player and senior coach.
  10. Shubham Giri (Gymnastics), a national player and senior coach in gymnastics
  11. Suntosh Bhat (Judo), a 3rd-degree Black belt in Judo and a distinguished national referee.
  12. Tausif Khan (Handball), a national-level Handball player, and senior coach
  13. Sania Mulla (Dance), a senior coach in Dance
  14. James Marcel (Speech and Theater), a senior coach specializing in speech and theater
  15. Ajay Shetty (Football), a national-level coach in football
  16. Joshua Selvam and Biswadeep Mukharjee (Music), senior coaches & experts in music & vocals.
  17. Aakash Jadhav (Arts & Crafts) is a skilled artist in Arts & crafts, with expertise in the visual arts.
  18. Rahul (Skating), is a national-level expert in skating.
  19. Dr.Rajesh Kateshiya (Injury and Rehab), a Ph.D. in physical education, specializing in Injury and Rehab Workshops.
  20. Miss. Mridul Soparkar (Soft Skill Training), a professional soft-skill trainer. expertise in communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills will enhance the overall development.
    Music and Dance Performances: On the second day of the training program, the Radcliffe Music Department Coaches and Dance Department Coaches showcased their talents with mesmerizing performances.
